There's a new trend for divorce! More couples are divorcing in July and August and there is speculation about why.
January and March remain the top months for divorce and most couples report it's because they didn't want to disrupt the family over the holidays. Many couples also feel a bit of nostalgia and want to spend one last holiday season together.
The July and August increase in filings seem to be following this motivation, with action taken following the summer vacation. Maybe it's hoping that a troubled marriage may get better if they can only get away and relax, or the realization that time together confirms the marriage is over.
